Blogs have been used by the public and also used as online journals or a personal diary by many. Blog came from the word “weblog” and by that, it means you go to your web directory and start logging on whatever the topic may be. It can be a log on the current events, things people experienced lately, description of the day they had, etc.

Blog is different among other web logger services. There’s video logging, photo logging, music logging (which evidently is still new), art logging, audio logging (also known as podcasting) and sketch logging. All that will be explained further on another article. But blogging just seems a lot more simple and probably the easiest to most people. All you had to do is type on the net, and get readers to read them. Blog has become our online journal and/or personal diary but it doesn’t stop there. The way of the blog continues by people who wanted to make money.

So in that sense, people whose blogging for money is like, a mercenary fighting for money. Times have changed and people turned frustrated that whatever work they have done online, they would rather be paid for rather than providing free service. So they turn to affiliation, referrals, advertisements, etc, just to make that extra income to support their daily lives. Though, I have not heard of anyone who would actually make a living from their blogging income.

There are bloggers out there who actually made a few million dollars. Taking for example one of the blogger who got rich would be Kevin Rose. He made a site, he started blogging, and he made the income… of $60 Million! It was covered by Business Week magazine that Kevin Rose, who made an 18 month long salary, was called irresponsible journalism. Though has not read the full story, he launched digg.com, became the talk show host of Screen Saver and later changed the show to Attack of the Shows! On G4, and there I stopped reading.

So basically anyone can get rich over the Internet. But in Kevin Rose’s case of getting that $60 million is actually pretty far fetched as to how he really earn that much. Sure he has his own website and sure he became a talk show host and his other entrepreneuring stuff, but if calculations are correct, it should be at least around $10 million. According to some forums and information regarding Rose’s income and worth, some has mentioned that he only has that value of $60 million if he had sold all of his shares. And if that would be the case then in real life, he’s just as ordinary as the rest of us.
